We all know what Netflix and Chill really means, right? It’s not so much about watching Netflix as it is about the actual ‘chill’. It’s a codeword for ‘let’s have a lil fun!’. The problem for some people is that they don’t have a Netflix subscription or any other streaming service subscription. Instantly, you fear your chances of instigating Netflix and chill are over – but they’re not!
Here’s how you can still arrange the same type of date, but without actually paying for any streaming services at all:
Watch free videos online
There are loads of sites out there that let you watch videos for free. YouTube is the biggest example of this, and I’m sure the two of you will get plenty of entertainment binging on videos for a good hour or so to make yourselves comfortable. Then, there are dedicated sites offer free anime, free cartoons, and loads of other genres that your partner might be interested in. Watch whatever you can find for free, and just get into the zone where you’re moving closer and closer until you’re all comfortable and snuggled up. From here, you can make the perfect transition into the ‘chill’ part of the date.
Go old school and watch a movie
Alternatively, you could go old school and stick on a film. We’ve all got some classic DVD’s or Blu-Rays in our home, and I’m sure you can find a pretty good movie to watch. The great thing about movies is that you can pick one that helps set the mood a bit. You know what I’m talking about, those romantic movies with some very steamy sex scenes, and so on. Put something on that gives out so many hints it’s hard for your partner to ignore – it doesn’t matter if it’s a rubbish movie, you won’t be watching all of it anyway!
Play some music instead
Spotify and chill doesn’t really have a ring to it, but listening to music is an excellent alternative if you can’t think of anything to watch. Invite them round to just chill and hang out, then you can start playing different songs, and the two of you will be able to relax and laugh about music choices, etc. Here’s an idea for a game that I just made up; each person takes it in turns to choose a song. This is a brilliant way to kind of break down any awkwardness and really get the two of you laughing and having fun. Before you know it, one of you puts on a very saucy song, and you have the perfect setting for some intimacy!
Let’s be real, everyone has certain needs! The great thing about this whole concept of ‘Netflix & Chill’ is that it lets you have a private date with someone where you can comfortably lead things in the direction you want. It’s better than just jumping right into things and getting someone round to have fun right away. That’s more of a “friends with benefits” type thing! If you actually want your relationship to go somewhere, then this is a great way to set up a Netflix & Chill scenario, without needing any streaming services at all!
