Let’s pretend that you can afford only one beauty tool in your whole life, please let it be this. I decided to write a Clarisonic review because it is honestly the best product that I’ve ever tried.
If you are like me, into everything that is skin care related, you will find the product of your dreams in Clarisonic.
I always look for the new trend and new help for my skin and, around four years ago, I read some reviews on Clarisonic and I was both amazed and suspicious as I couldn’t find one negative review. You can check for yourself on AmazonSEE REVIEWS
Anyway, I couldn’t walk away and I decided to give it a try; four years and three Clarisonics later, I decided to let you know why I think it’s a must-have.
But let’s start from the beginning.

Why I’m writing a Clarisonic review
Ok, I’m one of those people who can’t stop talking about the fantastic products they’ve discovered. But at this stage, all my friends and family know everything about Clarisonic. So, my internet friend, it’s your turn to listen to me.
All kidding aside, I decided to write this review on Clarisonic because the product delivers what it promises.
Really, you can see results after the first use.
Ok, now that it’s clear that I’m in love with Clarisonic and that I think it’s the best beauty product ever, we can go ahead and have look at why I think so.
Let’s start with the basics:
What is Clarisonic?
Clarisonic is a waterproof, electric brush. Using different brushes with the same body, you can use it for your face or your body.
I know you are wondering what’s so exciting about a brush.
Believe me, it’s not a simple brush (I tried lots of other brushes for my face but you can’t compare!).
Why is that? Because Clarisonic uses the “sonic method.” In other words, it doesn’t vibrate or spin like the other electric brushes, it oscillates at a sonic frequency. Wow, I know it sounds fancy and to be honest, it is. Whoever developed this technology is really good at his job because it works!
To make stuff easy, here is a video that shows how Clarisonic works in slow motion.
How does the sonic cleansing technology work?
Using the elasticity of your skin and oscillating at a sonic frequency (300 movements per second), it flexes your skin between the two brushes so that all the impurities from your pores are removed.
I know that it sounds harsh, but actually, there isn’t a brush more delicate than Clarisonic.
Since this movement happens really fast, you don’t feel any pulling, just a gentle vibration.
The other brushes out with aggressive spinning are much more likely to irritate your skin.
You don’t have to believe my Clarisonic review, just watch this video.
It’s really gentle on your skin.
Clarisonic is also an exfoliator!
Even if the manufacturer never says that Clarisonic is an exfoliator (they always talk about cleaning system) we can say that it at least works like one. Indeed, as well as cleaning your skin deeply, it will also gently remove dead surface cells from your skin.
This is why it isn’t recommended to use Clarisonic with an exfoliating cleanser.
This is the same reason why it is suggested that you increase the frequency at which you use the Clarisonic slowly. What is really important is choosing the right brush.
Choose the right brush
You must consider your skin type and the result that you want to achieve when choosing the right brush head. I know that this is a Clarisonic review, not a review of its brushes, but I believe that choosing the right brush affects the final result deeply.
Deep pore: it cleans deeply with dual action fibres. It’s not recommended if you have delicate skin.
Radiance: If you have dull skin, this is the brush for you.
Acne cleansing: Cleaning all the acne-causing impurities. It’s recommended for sensitive, acne-prone skin.
Revitalizing: Reduce fine lines (they claim that users can see results after just 1 week).
Sensitive: Recommended for skin that is sensitive. Makes your skin glow without irritating it.
Cashmere: it’s recommended for dry skin. It’s really gentle and it’s not a facial scrubber.
Delicate: Suitable for sensitive skin.
Smart turbo massage body brush: Ideal for body scrub and massage.
If you would like to read more detailed reviews of Clarisonic brush heads, you can have a look on Amazon.
Clarisonic also sells different face cleansers, but honestly, you don’t need to buy their line – you can use your favourite brand.
How to use Clarisonic
Clarisonic is a waterproof electric brush. So, you can also use it in the shower.
Before the first use, it is recommended to charge it for 24 hours, after that you can charge it whenever you want. It takes around 18 hours for a full charge, which lasts up to 100 minutes (I know it doesn’t sound like much, but every cleaning cycle lasts 1 minute, so if you use it once a day, you don’t need to charge it for more than three months).
It can be used to deeply clean the skin and also to remove makeup (but don’t use it on your eyes). They claim that it removes makeup 6 times better than your hands do.
Almost all the Clarisonic devices have at least two speeds. A delicate one, that can be used even by those with really compromised or fragile skin, and the universal one which is developed for normal, daily use.
The normal cleaning cycle lasts one minute (80 seconds for the Clarisonic Mia fit); after that, the device will turn off by itself.
Clarisonic has a T-timer that pulses when it’s time to move to another part of your face.
- 20 seconds on Forehead
- 20 seconds on Nose and Chin
- 10 seconds on one Cheek
- 10 seconds on other Cheek
- 20 seconds on neck area (only in Clarisonic Mia Fit)
When you first start, it can cause breakouts but don’t give up, your skin will calm down in around two weeks. This happens because the brush causes deep-seated bacteria to rise to the surface, which can inflame your skin.
I think it’s better you ease your way through it; I would start once every other day and gradually increase to two times per day (probably once a day is enough but two is such a pleasure!).
What Clarisonic promises:
According to Clarisonic’s website, its benefits are:
- Leaves skin feeling and looking healthier
- Removes 6X more makeup than cleansing with hands alone
- Helps skin care products absorb better
- Pores appear smaller
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
- Gentle enough for use twice a day
- Soft, non-abrasive for different skin types
And, my friend, it does. I think Clarisonic is one of the few products that really delivers what it promises.
My experience with Clarisonic:
Four years ago, I read a Clarisonic review, and as I love everything skincare I was immediately intrigued by this beauty tool. So, I started researching about it and I was amazed: all the Clarisonic reviews were positive. I couldn’t miss out!
I bought my first Clarisonic (it was a Mia 3 Aria. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued) and tried it straight away. Believe me, after just one use my skin was looking much better.
I started using it religiously and my skin improved drastically, it was more radiant and way softer. I noticed a reduction in my pores and also that my foundation was applying better. I didn’t notice any change in my fine line but I think it’ because I only have some little ones around my eyes and I don’t use Clarisonic on my delicate eye area.
Plus, I love using it. It gives me a gentle massage and it’s like a self-care routine.
Around six months ago my Clarisonic broke down and after a quick panic attack, I bought a new one on the internet.
To be honest, I didn’t like it. It has a new design meant for easier handling and storage. There’s no doubt that it’s compact and portable (the add says glow on the go).
I don’t know if is because I’m used to the other design, but I really missed the normal handle that Mia Aria had. Unfortunately, Mia Aria had been discontinued so, I bought the Mia 2 that is the most similar to the Mia Aria.
I used the Mia Fit for a while before my Mia 2 arrived and apart from the design, that is just a personal thing, I loved it as much as I loved my original Clarisonic.
The features of this new model are:
- Two different speeds setting: Extra delicate and deep cleaning (which is used to remove long-lasting makeup).
- 80-second cleaning cycle: they added 20 seconds for the neck
If you want to buy one of these models, you can either go directly on the Clarisonic website where you can also get a 15% discount (at the time of publication of this article) or look on Amazon.
How I use Clarisonic:
Anyway, especially at the beginning, I would recommend using Clarisonic once every other day and then build your routine up.
Why I love Clarisonic:
It delivers: Firstly, I love it because it gives results. It really does what it promises.
Fabulous skin: Since using Clarisonic, my skin feels absolutely amazing. It feels really deeply cleaned. And it is so soft that at the beginning, I couldn’t stop touching it. If you use Clarisonic consistently, your skin will absolutely glow. The pores are less visible and your skin looks younger. I didn’t use it for a while after my Mia Aria broke as I was waiting for my Mia Fit to arrive and my skin got dull, dry and irritated.
Easy to travel with: All the models that I’ve tried are compact and easy to carry. The Mia 2 comes with a little case. The Mia Fit uses a USB charger, which is definitely convenient on the go.
You can use it in the shower: All Clarisonics are waterproof. And having the possibility of using them under the shower is fantastic. While you are waiting for your hair mask to soak in, you can use Clarisonic. When I use it under the shower, I do a second cycle on my body with the smart turbo massage body brush head.
It’s a nice self-care ritual: I love using it. It gives you a gentle massage and makes you feel spoiled. It makes your skin care routine only one minute longer but gives you great results.
Helps in general: After you use Clarisonic for a while you can feel the cream that you use for your face penetrate better and even your foundation applies better.
I do love Clarisonic and I think it’s a must-have. If you care about your skin, invest in this tool.
