Sometimes life feels like Groundhog Day. We follow the same tired patterns over and over and it’s like we’re walking deeper and deeper underground.
It’s easy to get stuck in routines. Even hobbies and interests can become tiresome after a while, and we can eventually lose interest.
What is the cause of this lack of inspiration?
Part of it is boredom, we see the same things happen in the same way all the time, We become too familiar with the patterns and they become expected.
What’s going to happen next? Wait, I already know, I’ve seen this movie a million times before.
That’s why inspiration is so important. It enlivens our spirits and boosts our creativity, mental health, and emotional wellbeing. Inspiration can come from anywhere, from reading a book, taking a course, or visiting friends and family.
It’s a common mistake to think that only artists and creative types get inspired. Actually inspiration is freely available to all of us and anytime, we just have to know where to look.
And where is that exactly.
Well … one place is in between the gaps. We can let inspiration into our lives the way we might crack open a window to let in some fresh air. Those gaps can be intentionally made, for example, by taking time out to travel with a purpose.
That purpose could be trying new things. Why not set yourself the goal of trying something new on every holiday.
Check out these inspiring suggestions:
Oysters
This exotic delicacy has an amorous reputation, and not without good reason. It is considered a luxury food in many parts of the world partly due to its libido boosting qualities. But that isn’t the only reason to test the waters here. Oysters taste terrific with some lemon or garnish to enhance the natural sea salt flavour. Make the experience a special one by trying them at an authentic oyster bar such as Barilla Bay Oysters.
A Hot Air Balloon
Nothing says inspiration like floating gently in the clouds. A hot air balloon ride can change your perspectives of the world and yourself. If you feel uneasy about going in a wicker basket into the sky, don’t worry, they’re very safe, gentle, and warm when up. Also it’s part of the fun to scared, a little bit. If you are it shows you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone and are trying something new. Try to embrace it, you won’t forget the experience.
A Hot Spring Bath
Natural hot springs are areas in the earth’s crust where heated groundwater emerges in the form of large pools. Some of them are too hot to bath in but many aren’t. What’s more they contain an assortment of natural minerals like calcium, zinc, and magnesium that are excellent for your health. Prepare to feel completely revitalised by bathing in popular hot spring locations like Turkey, Iceland, and Japan. It’s just what you need to get your juices flowing again.
Trying new things like this can be kinda scary but it can also improve your health and well-being considerably; it can also taste great at the same time – mostly!
