The summer season is upon you. It is a time of renewal, reinvigoration, and relaxation. Take the time to bring new activities into your world or rekindle old ones for continued enjoyment.
Follow Your Favorite Sports Teams
Are you already an avid sports fan? Do you follow your favourite teams with rabid excitement and fascination? Watch both of the great teams in Australian rugby for endless athleticism and sports entertainment. From the male rugby team, the Wallabees, to the female greats, the Wallaroos, there is something for everyone. Start out by learning about the history of rugby and the teams themselves (if you do not already know). Next, school yourself on the rules of the game. Finally, find the teams’ schedules and become a superfan. When you have a team to root for and put some energy into, it gives you a feeling of camaraderie and support. It is a fun way to meet new people and have fun together.
Find Or Fulfill A Hobby
Have responsibilities, family obligations, and your career impeded your previously joy-filled hobbyist days? If so, why not get back into it? Finding the time or even scheduling your hobby as an event in your daily calendar will ensure that you allow yourself an opportunity to do it. However, do not allow yourself to feel stress if you miss the activity. Try out leatherworking to create bracelets – perhaps it can even turn into a side hustle to earn extra money. You will likely find tutorials online for woodworking, painting, or anything that interests you. Let your hobby be a way to disconnect from anything that weighs down on you and enjoy the act of creating.
Learn A New Skill
Go beyond a hobby and seek out a new skill to learn. If pandemic protocols and restrictions are still in place, the internet abounds with high-quality courses you can take from the comfort of your home. Look into career-broadening classes that interest you or language classes that will help you on a dream trip. There are online certifications in everything from creating Excel spreadsheets with expertise to Google User Experience certificates. If you are ready to add skills to your professional toolbelt, now is the time.
If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or stressed from the pandemic or life in general, try practising mindfulness. To begin, find a quiet and calm place to sit. Make sure it is comfortable enough for you to feel at ease. Open windows for the fresh air or close them to block out ambient sounds. In mindfulness, your goal is to be in the moment. Put all of your tasks, responsibilities, to-do lists, and stressors out of your mind. Focus on your breathing and how your body feels right now. Here is a helpful video to guide you when you require a quick reset.
Summer is on its way, and there are so many wonderful things to do and experience. Grab your preferred beverage, tackle a home repair or a long-awaited book. Get outside, play sports, and then follow those sports when you are tired of playing them, and enjoy life!
